Alyssa Canty joins CCNC as new HBCU outreach coordinator

We are very happy to welcome Alyssa Canty as the newest member of the Common Cause North Carolina team. Alyssa will serve as our new college outreach coordinator, working with students at four historically black colleges and universities in North Carolina: NC Central, Shaw, St. Augustine’s and Fayetteville State universities.

Alyssa is a native of North Carolina. She earned her Bachelor’s of Art degrees in Women Studies and Public Policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received a certificate in Not-for-Profit Management from Salem College and a Master’s of Public Administration from North Carolina Central University. She has worked in higher education and volunteered and interned with several organizations throughout her college years, including Breakthrough Atlanta, Shodor Education Foundation, Lillian’s List, Planned Parenthood of Central NC, and The LGBT Center of Raleigh.
