Common Cause Applauds Mayor Miner

NEW YORK, NY — In response to news reports that Syracuse Mayor, Stephanie Miner, will no longer accept campaign contributions through the LLC loophole, Common Cause/NY Executive Director Susan Lerner released the following statement:

“Brava to Mayor Miner for making an example of herself and rejecting the unlimited flow of money into politics. We want good elected officials like the Mayor who embody what our laws should be rather than excusing bad behavior because it’s legal. It’s time for the Legislature to follow her lead and close the LLC loophole.”
