Ethics

Common Cause Nebraska has been holding public officials accountable since our founding in 1974 and striving for a more ethical government is part of everything we do. This includes work to put a limit on the "revolving door" of legislators becoming lobbyists after their term ends. We also think it's important to release reports on the gifts that policymakers receive throughout the year, breaking down just who's providing free airfare and wine for our public servants.

Finally, a big part of our ethical work over the past decade has been in exposing the influence of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a secretive organization that recruits legislators with the goal of supporting corporate interests in the states.
