Election Protection

Protecting the freedom of all eligible Americans to vote is fundamental to our democracy. Yet in every election many eligible voters find themselves confused and unable to exercise their right to vote.  In the 2016 general election, Common Cause worked with the Chicago Lawyers’ committee to ensure fair and impartial voting procedures and to protect against voter intimidation.

In April 2017, as part of an Election Protection coalition in Cook County, Common Cause IL worked again with the Chicago Lawyer’s committee and  other organizations to facilitate voter protection and ensure voter access. The efforts for election protection continue for the state, and our coalition members.
