Economic and Racial Justice

Common Cause in Connecticut advocates for laws that will advance fair wages, end economic inequality and against ALEC (The American Legislative Exchange Council) inspired bills which seek to suppress the vote and protects citizen and consumer rights.

We also advocate for an end to prison-based gerrymandering, in which prisoners are counted where they are incarcerated instead of where they live (their legal address by CT definition), thus artificially inflating the constituent population of districts which contain prisons.

Finally we are urging federal action on restoring the Voting Rights Act so that every single qualified citizen may retain the right to vote.

Take Action

The Supreme Court gutted a key provision of the Voting Rights Act.

Tell Congress to fix the court’s bad decision!

Take action.
