We talk a lot about Big Money drowning out the voices of the rest of us as we try to debate and decide who will lead us. Most of the time our diverse opinions and perspectives are in effect silenced by the monolithic messaging of Super PACS and the consultants to the largest donors. But we’ve been working to have our chance to be heard on the floor of the US Senate. And Monday September 8th is the day. Senator Bennet is supporting this solution in the video.
Late Monday, the US Senate will debate and vote on the Democracy for All amendment, the constitutional amendment that would give we the people a chance to be heard in the political process again.
Our own US Senators Mark Udall and Michael Bennet are co-sponsors of the amendment. But except for Representative Perlmutter, their colleagues in the US House have not yet supported the amendment.
To have the farthest reach, to let the most people know that we can do something about money in politics, take action today and spread the word about the growing movement to amend the constitution.
Our voices are only as loud as each person who speaks up.
