Two years ago, in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, a bitterly divided Supreme Court overturned a century of established precedent by ruling that corporate spending on candidate elections cannot be limited under the First Amendment. In so doing, Justices Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, Alito, and Kennedy declared that corporations are indistinguishable from people with respect to federal law and the U.S. Constitution.
We cannot afford to let big corporations with vast amounts of wealth decide who will represent us, the people of America. Join us as we raise our voices around Connecticut to get corporate money out of our democracy!

The destruction or defacement by city police and/or clean-up crews of at least part of the "Occupy Wall Street" library in Zuccotti Park is unacceptable. Those responsible, from the cops and sanitation workers directly involved to whoever in the bureaucracy or the Mayor's office ordered the library trashed or refused to step in and stop it, should be disciplined.
