On August 27th, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales announced that he is resigning. Therefore, this action center is now closed.

Thank you to the tens of thousands of Common Cause activists who called for Gonzales' resignation or impeachment. Now it's up to President Bush to appoint a person of integrity to head the Justice Department. We need an Attorney General who will set the example for legal and ethical behavior, who will protect the Justice Department from political inference, and who will protect justice for all - not just for some.

Common Cause will be watching.
