Common Cause Hawaii :: Democracy Under the Influence
"DEMOCRACY UNDER THE INFLUENCE" Meetups
You're invited! Join us for the "Democracy Under the Influence" discussion series -- monthly meetups to explore the connection between money, influence, and politics in Hawaii, how it affects us all, and what we can do about it.
Our next meetup is Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. at the headquarters of Civil Beat.
This month our guest speaker is Sara Lin, Assistant Editor of Civil Beat, who will speak about the State Integrity Investigation, a 50-state investigation of transparency, ethics and accountability in state government. Civil Beat was the Hawaii partner in the study, and Sara will discuss the study and their key findings for Hawaii. Visit the Civil Beat website to read about the study.
Directions: Civil Beat's offices are located in Kaimuki at 3465 Waialae Avenue, Suite 200. This is the Central Pacific Bank building on the corner of Waialae and 10th Avenues. Street parking is available on Waialae and 10th Avenue, and paid parking is available under the building.
Please RSVP on the registration page.
These events are cosponsored by Common Cause Hawaii, Kanu Hawaii, and League of Women Voters of Hawaii.
Please check our Twitter feed or Facebook Page for more updates on topics and guest speakers.
