It's hard to imagine a world in which corporations enjoy more influence in Washington than they do now.
But it could very well happen. The Supreme Court is set to hear a much anticipated case next week that has the potential to open the floodgates of corporate money into our political system at levels never before seen.
Common Cause is hosting a live web chat today (Tuesday, September 8) at 1pm eastern time to bring our members and activists up to speed on this case and answer any questions they might have.
Two Common Cause staffers will be available to answer your questions on Tuesday: Arn Pearson, Vice President for Programs, and Chris Melody Fields, Director of Outreach. Arn is an attorney and campaign finance expert who led the fight for Maine's clean election law. He has extensive experience in the fields of public financing and campaign finance reform, election reform, tax reform, and ethics. Chris knows the political system inside and out, having worked for a number of political campaigns, and as a reformer. She leads Common Cause's efforts to build coalitions in support of public financing and other reforms.
Please don't miss this opportunity to learn more about the Citizens United case being considered by the Supreme Court and its potential impact on our democracy by using the box below to send yourself a reminder.
