A Gift of an Insurance Policy
“If we can forge instruments of social action that will enable individuals to regain a sense of their own vote in tackling the great problems of their time, we might just succeed in striking the spark that would move a civilization.”
-- John Gardner
For more than three decades, members of Common Cause have stood together to demand an ethical and accountable government. In the decades to come, the loud cry for a mobilized and engaged citizenry will continue to demand that each vote count, each legislator be accountable, and each corporate stakeholder be ethical.
A simple way to help ensure an open democracy is by naming Common Cause a beneficiary of a life insurance policy. Giving an insurance policy is a way to donate a large sum at a relatively low cost. You can donate an existing policy that is no longer needed for your family’s financial security or purchase a new policy, naming Common Cause as owner and/or beneficiary.
To include Common Cause as a beneficiary of your insurance policy, simply complete a “Change of Beneficiary” form with your policy provider. You will need the following information to complete the form:

Tax ID number 52-6078441
The John Gardner Legacy Circle is our way of expressing our heartfelt appreciation to those who make a significant commitment to a government by and for all future generations. Donors of insurance policies are invited into our John Gardner Legacy Circle.
