About Us

Common Cause New Mexico has made a difference.  We have been on the front lines of numerous hard fought battles for government reform and accountability.  In the past three decades, we have been instrumental in the implementation of key state and municipal reform measures, including voluntary public financing of campaigns for citywide races in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, campaigns for the NM Public Regulation Commission and statewide judicial races. We've also succeeded in pushing for online campaign finance reporting, the merit selection of judges, the Lobbyist Regulation Act, the Campaign Reporting Act and the Open Meetings Act. In 2008, we initiated a highly successful election protection project called Count Every Vote New Mexico.

Get Involved!  Today, nearly 400,000 Common Cause members and supporters -- among them over 3,200 New Mexicans -- are working together to make government work for the people.  More members mean a stronger voice for the public in local, state and national politics.  If you're not already a member, please join today.
