Common Cause Georgia's 2014 Legislative Priorities
We are proud to announce Common Cause Georgia's 2014 legislative priority list. CCGA’s top priority this legislative session is one that we view as needed more than any other, and has been well covered and publicized by the media because of current scandals. We need an independent appointment process and funding mechanism for our state's ethics commission. This would include funding that is not set by the legislative or executive branch, the creation of an independent appointment process, as well as restoring the agency's name to the State Ethics Commission (known now as the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission).
