TAKE ACTION: USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism’s Norman Lear Center has released its report entitled "Local TV News in the Los Angeles Media Market: Are Stations Serving the Public Interest?" A full copy of the report can be found here. This study finds that all 8 local Los Angeles TV stations cover local government news for a mere 21.6 seconds of their half-hour time slot.
We hope you will join the fight for fair media by visiting our Take Action page and sending a letter to the FCC.

Campaign Finance Reform: Where to Now?
March 4th, 2010, 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Experts predicted the recent Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Elections Commission will change the way campaigns are financed and now we have the proof. Just last week the Los Angeles City Ethics Commission announced a ban has been lifted on the use of corporation and labor funds for express advocacy in our elections. Learn more about this new development and other issues like full public financing of elections at a special forum on campaign finance reform next Thursday, March 4th at LA City Hall. Panelists will include Kathay Feng, California Common Cuase, Bob Stern, Center for Governmental Studies, Xandra Kayden, League of Women Voters, LeeAnn Pelham, LA City Ethics Commission, and James Sutton, Campaign Lawyers.
