About Us
Common Cause Massachusetts is a non-partisan organization created to ensure open, honest, and accountable government at the federal, state, and local levels.
Through sustained and focused lobbying campaigns, we seek to:
- To strengthen public participation and public faith in our institutions of self-government;
- To ensure that government and the political process serve the general interest, rather than special interests;
- To curb the excessive influence of money on government decisions and elections;
- To promote fair and honest elections and high ethical standards for government officials; and
- To protect the civil rights and civil liberties of all Americans.
Join us in revitalizing our democracy!
In an increasingly cynical world, we believe in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We share a commitment to working for the common good. Our strength is in 10,000 members here in Massachusetts, and more than 400,000 across the country. As a member-led organization, Common Cause fights for “the rest of us,” to keep democracy from drowning in a torrent of big money, or sliding into irrelevancy. Common Cause Massachusetts’s proven strategy of rigorous planning and vigorous action helps citizens engage with each other, and with more honest, accountable government.
