Three significant bills described here improve open government and ethics laws.  These bills need to pass their committee next Monday or Tuesday.  Committee members need to know there is public support for the bills.

Draft of Governor's Tax Study Commission report available - August 19, 2008

Justice Department signs off on state's ambitious ethics reform legislation - August 7, 2008

New president of Common Cause Mississippi is Lynn Evans - January 20, 2008. 

Lynn Evans was chosen as the president-elect this past October and became the new president of Common Cause Mississippi on January 1, 2008.  Lynn has been a board member of Common Cause MS for many years and is well known for her columns on the editorial page of the Clarion-Ledger.  Read the latest one about campaign funding here.
