For nearly 40 years, Common Cause has fought - and won - key reform victories that have helped make our government more open, honest, and accountable. But these victories have never been easy. Battles are often long and hard-fought, and they demand a tremendous amount of energy and resources.
Our special Common Cause "Guardians of Democracy" have helped make these reform victories a reality. Their regular monthly contributions help ensure that Common Cause has the funds its needs to wage the long, hard battle for reform and resources we can depend on to take advantage of new opportunities and to defeat unexpected assaults on our democracy.
When You Join The Guardians of Democracy…
You will receive special monthly briefs, reports, and bulletins - including legislative updates, news releases, and studies - that will keep you up-to-date and show your extra support in action. These special reports are often available only to our Guardians of Democracy program members!
You will receive a monthly invoice and receipt by email, or, if you prefer to send your gift through the mail, a convenient mail-back envelope for your gift.
You will be playing a very special and important role in Common Cause's reform work - both in Washington and around the country.

Q: How is the Guardians of Democracy program different than regular membership?
The Common Cause "Guardians of Democracy" program is a select group of members who want to help ensure that Common Cause has a steady source of income so that we can take on urgent battles, and be always at the ready to fight for reform. By pledging a monthly gift, these members are playing a vital role in our work.
Instead of receiving our general fundraising mail solicitations, Guardians of Democracy receive monthly e-mail reminders from us, along with special updates and briefs.
Q: What record do I have of my gifts?
Each month you will receive an e-mail statement that provides details of your most recent gifts.
Q: How does the Automatic Payment program work?
Many Guardians of Democracy opt for the convenience of our automatic payment program. This program allows you to have us automatically transfer your gift from your bank account, your credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover) or your PayPal account each month. It's a safe, convenient, and easy way for you to be a Guardian of Democracy, and you won't have to worry about writing a check and mailing it off each month. You will also help us reduce our administrative costs and time by taking part in the automatic payment program - helping make your contribution go even further!
Q: What if I change my mind?
You may increase or decrease your pledge amount, suspend your monthly gifts, or end your participation in the Guardians of Democracy program at any time.
