Take Action

Lobby Corps

Our first two Lobby Corps events were big successes! We trained more than two dozen citizen activists and sent them to Capitol Hill to press for Fair Elections Now. Momentum for reform has never been stronger!

This month we want to do something a little different. We'll be holding a Lobby Corps training session only (no visits to Capitol Hill this time) that is focused on lobbying techniques, how legislation moves through the Congress and more. Please sign up below to join us! Here are all the details:

Lobby Corps Training
Thursday, November 19
10:00am – 12noon
Common Cause National Office
1133 19th Street NW, 9th Floor (between L and M Streets)
Just a few blocks from the Dupont Circle, Farragut West and Farragut North metro stops

About Lobby Corps

Common Cause was founded nearly 40 years ago to be the "citizens' lobby" in Washington – making the people's voice heard on issues ranging from civil rights to campaign finance reform to removing hurdles to voting for those eligible.

This fall, with Congress considering many critical issues that need your voice, we need YOU to help us pass the reforms that America voted for last year. That's why we've launched Lobby Corps, a program that educates everyday Americans on how to effectively lobby their elected representatives.

Informed by our decades-long experience of lobbying for good government, Common Cause will teach citizen activists lobbying tactics and strategies, helping ensure that the public's voice will be heard loud and clear by members of Congress. The program will be capped off with a lobby day when Lobby Corps trainees will join fellow activists in lobbying members of Congress and rallying for reform on Capitol Hill.
