The Common Ground on Health Care Declaration


We recognize that the health care system in this country is broken, and has left millions of Americans without access to affordable health care.

Like a supermajority of Americans, we support a government-sponsored health care plan (the so-called "public option") to compete with private insurers and lower costs.

We believe that the terms of the debate over health care reform should be determined by the people and their representatives in Congress, not special interest lobbyists from the insurance and pharmaceutical industries.
