Voting Rights Advocates in Swing States to Hold Election Day Telephone Briefings to Report out Election Day Problems

Morning and late afternoon briefings scheduled in seven states

Dial in number is (800) 657-1263; Use Conference ID # below

Voting rights advocates in seven swing states will each hold morning and afternoon telephone press briefings on Election Day to report on specific incidents and problems reported to poll monitors and a national hotline. These calls are in addition to two national telephone press briefings that will be held at 10:30 am ET and 3:30 pm ET by the Election Protection Coalition, the nation’s largest non-partisan election protection coalition that includes more than a hundred national, state, and local voter protection groups.

Voting rights advocates will inform reporters, producers and editors about problems, questions and other information coming in from voters on the national voter hotline, 1-866-OUR-VOTE. In addition, advocates will talk about on-the-ground information gathered from non partisan poll monitors, as well as offer comment on what is going on nationally in comparison with that state. The voter hotline, 1-866-OUR-VOTE is national, toll-free non-partisan telephone line sponsored by Election Protection.

All the leaders listed below are executive directors of a Common Cause state organization.
