The Supreme Court's 5-4 decision in Citizens United v. FEC overturned decades of well-settled law and opened up the floodgates to unlimited corporate and union spending in our electoral process. In the most recent 2010 elections, over $3.6 billion in political spending influenced the vote -- a historic high for a midterm election.
