For Immediate Release Statement on Introduction of Bipartisan Political Intelligence Transparency Act

Posted on September 18, 2014

“The Political Intelligence Transparency Act would provide much-needed sunshine to the often-hidden activities of the political intelligence community. This legislation would help restore the public’s trust so that those in government can’t anonymously try to line their pockets from their service,” said Aaron Scherb, director of legislative affairs at Common Cause.

“Common Cause commends Reps. Louise Slaughter, Tim Walz, and John Duncan for introducing this bipartisan bill and looks forward to working for its passage.”

Common Cause is a nonpartisan grassroots organization dedicated to upholding the core values of American democracy. We work to create open, honest, and accountable government that serves the public interest; promote equal rights, opportunity, and representation for all; and empower all people to make their voices heard in the political process.
