Brent Laurenz serves as Director of Outreach and Special Projects for Common Cause North Carolina. Prior to joining Common Cause in January 2015, Brent worked for the North Carolina Center for Voter Education in Raleigh for 5 years. Brent’s nonprofit experience also includes working in policy and government relations for the Civil War Trust, an organization dedicated to the preservation of our nation’s endangered Civil War battlefields. He received a bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech and a master's degree in political management from George Washington University.
In addition to his work at Common Cause North Carolina, Brent serves on the Advisory Board for the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of the Triangle, is active with his local Virginia Tech alumni chapter and is a member of the Wake County Historic Preservation Commission.
