Meet Bette…
Bette Marchant is Common Cause’s chief financial officer (CFO). She joined Common Cause in September 2007. As chief financial officer, Bette is responsible for finance, human resources, network administration, data management, membership services, and internal operations. Previously, Bette was CFO and managing director of finance and administrative services for the National Crime Prevention Council in Washington DC. Prior to that, Bette was an independent consultant and controller of The Falls Church, a non-profit organization in Falls Church, VA. Bette studied accounting at the College of William and Mary before earning a BA degree from George Mason University. She also holds a graduate certificate in financial planning from Georgetown University.
