Taking Action to Improve Elections

Election Day. You press the button, color in the circle, check the box, poke out the dots, sign your absentee ballot, or possibly even pull a lever. There, you've done it, registered your opinion about the direction our government should take. It's an act of faith: Will your vote be counted? Will the election result accurately reflect the intent of the voters?

At Common Cause Ohio, we are working to make sure that the election system is worthy of your trust.

  • We have developed an Agenda for Election Reform detailing our position on the vast array of election issues.
  • We are fighting for good legislation here in Ohio and at the federal level to reform our elections.
  • We maintain an Election Bill Tracker to help you find out about election-related legislation pending in the states.
  • We are collecting data and writing research and policy reports, letters and testimony, and FAQs to help inform you and convince your elected officials of the reasons why reform is needed.
  • We are building a library of additional resources for use in the fight for election reform.
  • As an organization, we also have a long and proud history of advocacy for election reform both in Ohio and around the country.

Most of all, we encourage you to join our election reform efforts.
